Even before the harvest, Rina lived a life that was more risky than would ever have been sensible. As an extreme athlete and illegal courier, she sometimes worked for people it was better not to talk about. Wearing a wingsuit, a climbing harness, or black-market gear, she smuggled data packets, medications, and banned goods over rooftops, through restricted zones, and past checkpoints. She always chose the direct route over safety, often somewhere between the edge of a skyscraper and free fall. Her combination of body awareness, stealth, nerves of steel, and a healthy indifference to what others considered impossible made her highly sought after. She knew every escape route above people’s heads, knew how to vanish without a trace from great heights, and almost always reappeared where no one would have expected her. Some of her jumps would have been dismissed as madness even by hardened daredevils, yet Rina survived them, more than once. After the Harvest, her basic approach hasn’t changed much, but her missions have become more extreme. For the Prowlers, she delivers messages, plants explosives in hard-to-reach places, or evacuates people just before an area is cleansed. Her former courier jobs have turned into full-fledged combat missions, and she’s replaced her old wingsuit with a powerful jetpack. With it, she soars over barricades, delivers messages, or appears from completely unexpected angles to surprise enemies with her explosives. At 26 years old, Rina is fast, quiet, and practically impossible to catch. These qualities earned her the nickname Rocket Rina.
